Augmented reality blends real time video footage with the unreal 3D world. A really good example makes it hard to tell the difference between the real and the unreal.
There is a great on-line example available for you to try out on-line. This flash version was created using papervision 3D and an Augmented reality
Flash ARToolkit.
To Get the above example working jump to this address http://interactive.digitalpictures.com.au/
Scroll down past the video seen above and then Ctrl-click or right click on the flash window. Change the browsers flash setting to match your web-cam.
Set the permissions to enable access to your web-cam.
Print out the pdf augmented reality square and place it in-front of your web-cam.
The Question is: How real is virtual?
